Moving out

Inspection

Here you will find information about what you need to consider before your inspection.

Inspection before your move

About 2-3 weeks before your contract ends, we will carry out a technical inspection of your property. We check the condition and see if anything needs to be fixed before the next tenant moves in – you do not need to have cleaned the apartment at this time. We will email you the date of the inspection in advance and would appreciate it if you could attend the inspection to make the move-out as smooth as possible. In the unlikely event that you cannot be at home, it is possible to give us permission to enter with an extra key via a link you will receive when the inspection is approaching.

Things to think about before:

  • All standard equipment, such as a hat rack and curtain fittings, should be in place.
  • Extra items such as wall mirrors or rugs may not be left behind without written approval from the next tenant.
  • Are you renting furnished? Make sure you have all the furniture listed in the inventory and that you put it back in the property before you move out.

After the inspection:

The report is available in the Housing app under “Inspection” after 16:00 on the day it was carried out. There you can see if anything needs to be fixed before you move.

This is how the protocol works:

  • Approved: No comments.
  • Approved with note: Minor damage that is not being repaired.
  • Resolved by SGS: We fix it – you won’t be charged.
  • Handled by SGS and charged: You are responsible for the cost.
  • To be fixed by the tenant or charged: You fix it before moving out – otherwise you will be charged.
  • Checked by external property owner: Assessment is carried out by the property owner, if SGS does not own the home.

If you have any questions after viewing the report, please contact SGS Customer Service – we will be happy to help you.
